David Cooper

David trained at Sylvia Young Theatre School and at Mountview Drama School, where he gained a BA in Musical Theatre. He has worked extensively in theatre, radio and television. As a child he played Kurt in “The Sound of Music” at Saddlers Wells theatre, Gavroche in “Les Miserables”, and was in the original cast of “Metropolis” at The Piccadilly Theatre, London. He also played Zac in the original musical version of “Goodnight Mr. Tom”.  David also worked with the English National Opera in “The Magic Flute” at London and Glyndebourne and with The Welsh National Opera in Paris. He is featured on the London cast recording of “Metropolis” and also on “Hey Mr. Producer”. David starred in “Earthwarp” for the BBC, as well as appearing in numerous other TV and radio programmes.  He was excited to sing for the queen as Oliver in a Royal Variety Show.

Since leaving Montview, David has appeared in “The Bill” and “All our Heroes” for the BBC. He performed in a workshop production of “Oklahoma” and toured with a Theatre in Education Company. For the last two years, he has been in the musical “Blood Brothers” both in the West End and on tour, where he plays the part of Mickey.
